research topic 1:
Researching into my Target audience for my magazine: 

for this research task is to help me find a my target audience for my magazine. I want to create a fresh new underground/rap/hiphop/grime magazine which involves new artist's coming through the industry.

these are magazines and websites that i am researching. these magazines/companies are focused on younger generation who are interested in rap/grime and new hiphop artist that are coming through the music industry. They also have famous musical icons too.

for example 'SBTV' is a brand that films and records fresh young new artists that want to break into the music industry. this has the same target audience that i want to reach out too, its stylish and new. 

I will base my front cover on images like these but add my own unique style to make it different.

Research topic 2:

Researching into music magazine contents pages:

for this line off research i'm looking at various different magazines to see how their contents pages are set out. each magazine has a different set up off a contents page some more complex than others. 

This 'Vibe' magazine  has a clear background showing a music artist. The word 'contents' has been broken down into sections but you can still see clearly that its a contents page. 

The colours contrast with the writing to make the writing stand out and the red can represent the power off the rapper.
This research about a contents page doesn't have to be vital in depth research but it is here just to give me an indication off how to set up my contents page.









Representation of male and females in these magazines: 

 these two contents pages are from the same magazine but use different genders. you can see how the difference between male and female is represented.

The male is represented as a powerful and strong character. all his jewlery being displayed is showing the reader that this male has a very large amount off money, he even has gold teeth.  The red background also has a clear representation of power and danger.

The female however has been displayed in a completely different way. The colouring off the background is a complete contrast to the male contents page, its more off a calm and dull colouring. she is also lying on the floor in a seductive manor looking at the camera, its funny how different both of these genders are represented.
one almost like a sex object and another a powerful wealthy character.
